The Methodist Church Ghana has donated 10,000 customised exercise books, 5,000 pens, 5,000 pencils, 5,000 erasers, and 5,000 rulers to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan -Ghana Battalion 8
The UNMISS GHANBATT 8 as part of its mandate in South Sudan is to offer protection and security to about 130,000 internally displaced persons in the town of Bentiu. The population, which includes mostly women and children, are faced with enormous challenges.
The Battalion is seeking to make an impact in the lives of the vulnerable population by embarking on civil-military cooperations in three major areas, that is, medical outreach, sports, and education. It is in view of this that the Methodist church Ghana decided to offer a helping hand.
