The mortal remains of Rev. Father Isaac Amos-Abanyie have been returned home to Ghana, following a solemn reception ceremony at the Accra International Airport in Accra on Thursday April 2, 2026
The repatriation was successfully facilitated by the Ministry of Interior, Ghana Health Service, Ghana Ambassador to South Africa, and other agencies who worked closely with the South African authorities to ensure a dignified and seamless return of the remains.
Upon arrival at the Accra International Airport, the body was received by a somber yet composed delegation comprising officials from the National Catholic Secretariat, led by senior members of the clergy, as well as Priests of the Catholic Archdiocese of Cape Coast and the bereaved family of Rev. Fr. Isaac Amos-Abanyie.

The Secretary General of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference, Very Rev. Fr. Clement Kwasi Adjei, supported by his brother Priests, offered prayers and paid their last respects as the casket was gently unloaded from the aircraft. Family members were on hand to receive their beloved son and spiritual father.
The Director for Governance, Justice and Peace for the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference, Very Rev. Fr. Michael K.A. Quaicoe on behalf of the delegation, expressed profound gratitude to the Government of Ghana through its embassy in South Africa for the swift consular assistance.
