Mortal Remains of Fr. Emmanuel Gyansah-Tabi Laid to Rest

The mortal remains of Rev. Fr. Gyansah Tabi, a Priest of the Goaso Diocese have been laid to rest after a burial Mass at the St. Joseph Catholic Church Bechem in the Goaso Diocese

The Mass held on February 27, 2025 was presided over by the shepherd of the Diocese, the Most Rev. Peter Kwaku Atuahene and celebrated by the Most Rev. Joseph Francis Essien, Emeritus Bishop of Wiawso Diocese; the Most Rev. Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi, Bishop of Sunyani Diocese; the Most Rev. Dominic Yeboah Nyarko, Bishop of Techiman Diocese; the Most Rev. John Opoku Agyemang, Bishop of Konongo-Mampong Diocese and Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Adjei Effah, representing Archbishop of Kumasi Archdiocese.

There were scores of Priests and Religious both from the Diocese and outside the Diocese including the classmates of the late Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Gyansah-Tabi.

 

In a homily, Rev. Msgr. Anthony Boahen Kyeremeh shared how he had a very special relationship with the late Fr. Gyansah-Tabi.

Msgr. Kyeremeh was late Fr. Gyansah-Tabi Spiritual Director whiles he was his confessor.

He shared some of their memories together when they were at St. Theresa’s Minor Seminary at Amisano-Elmina in the cape Archdiocese, describing him as a true and faithful son of God, who made a purposeful decision to serve the Lord all his life.

Msgr. Kyeremeh revealed that Fr. Gyansah-Tabi was to celebrate his 80th Birthday on April 23 2025 and would have celebrate his 50 years in Priesthood on July 31, 2026.

He said when he we are ready it not yet time for God, but when God is ready regardless of whatever preparation you have made in life you will leave.

He reminded the people to re-establish their relationship with God everyday of their lives, appealing to them “if you can, you should have confession every day or say the act of contrition every night before you sleep.”

In welcome earlier, Rev. Fr. Elisha Manu, Parish Priest of Bechem St. Joseph Catholic Church said life had an end but was happy Gyansah-Tabi touched life and impacted many lives.

Fr. Gyansah-Tabi was born on April 3, 1945, at Dwomo in the Ahafo Region to Opanin Emmanuel Gyansah-Tabi Snr.  and Obaapanin Agnes Afua Konne (all deceased).

He had his Secondary Education at Pope John’s Secondary School, Koforidua from 1963 – 1968 and continued his O’ Levels and A’ Levels at St. Theresa’s Seminary, Amisano-Elmina from 1968 – 1970.

He had his formation at St. Peter’s Regional Seminary, Pedu, Cape Coast, in the year 1970 for his Philosophy and Theology and was ordained into Priesthood on July 31, 1976, by Late Most Rev. James Owusu, the Bishop of Sunyani Diocese.

After ordination, he was appointed the Assistant Cathedral Administrator (1976 – 1978) of Sunyani Diocese. From 2005 untill his demise, he was in residence at St. Joseph Parish, Bechem. Rev. Fr. Gyansah-Tabi went home to His maker on Friday, January 17, 2025.
