MTN Supports Online Studies Amidst COVID-19 Pandemic

The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, addressing the nation on Sunday about updates of measures taken against the spread of Corona Virus tasked the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Communication to collaborate and roll out distance learning programmes.

In view of this, MTN Ghana in a press release has announced that it is supporting students and educational institutions with zero rate for some online educational sites.

The Chief Marketing Officer of MTN Ghana, Noel Kojo-Ganson said “our customers are very important to us and even more so in these difficult times. We must show our customers that we care about their wellbeing. We believe the zero-rating of over 25 educational online sites will be a great relief to our customers and their children and other dependents”.

He also assured the general public that MTN will continue to explore other opportunities to make life a whole lot brighter even in these difficult times.
MTN Ghana has in addition zero rated the website of the Ghana Health Service to enable customers to easily access information on COVID-19 for free.

MTN Ghana has since the outbreak of the pandemic in Ghana has embarked on various mediums to educate its publics on safety measures through SMS and Social Media platforms to provide them with personal hygiene tips on how to manage the virus.

MTN MoMo has also announced incentives approved by the Bank of Ghana to enable customers adopt MoMo for financial transactions to minimize the risk posed by cash handling.

In addition, has deployed safety tips as caller tunes for both prepaid and post-paid customers.
