The Mysti-Blends Chorale Ghana as part of its annual ‘CHARITY AGENDA’ and the climax of its 7th-anniversary celebration paid a visit to the Weija Leprosarium in Accra.
The January 2023 visit was among others aimed at sharing fraternity with the inmates of the Leprosarium as well as presenting gifts worth four thousand cedis to them.
In his welcome address, Brother Philip, a representative of the Leprosarium gave a brief history of the facility and how far they’ve come.
He introduced the “Adopt a granny” idea of raising funds to support the facility and the Mysti-Blends Chorale GHANA bought into it, meaning every month they’ll be paying at least 100 cedis to the facility to support one old person who is under their care.
The Director of Operations of the Mysti-Blends Chorale GHANA, Emmanuel Owusu-Gyasi thanked the leadership of the community for the opportunity to share the joy of Christmas with them. While presenting items such as drinks, water, bread, washing powder and soaps, bags of rice, slightly used Clothing and pomade among others.
Receiving the items, the prefect of the facility thanked the Mysti-Blends Chorale GHANA for their kind gesture. “This is planned and ordained by God because you’re celebrating your 7th anniversary and as the number 7 represents perfection, may God make your ways perfect as you move on in life individually and as a group,” he said.
For his part, founder of the facility, Fr. Andrew Campbell thanked the group for their visit and asked individuals to emulate this kind gesture in order to pass by and support with as little as they can since the government support of 30 cedis a month per each cured leper in the facility wasn’t enough to take care of them.
