New Pastoral Council Chairman Pledges to Solve Challenges Through Saint Francis of Assisi’s Inspiration

The newly inducted Chairman of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Ashale Botwe, Mr. Augustine Asarfo –Adjei has assured the parishioners of his resolve to help solve the myriad of challenges facing the Church through the inspiration of the Parish’s Patron Saint.

In his address after his induction on January 12, 2025, he pledged to be committed to the core values of the Parish community including Service, Faith, Open mindedness, Apostleship, Community and Christ centeredness .

Mr. Asarfo – Adjei, a Lawyer and the worthy President of the Knights of St. John International commandery number 833 indicated that service reflects Christ’s love through kindness and charity, especially towards the marginalized.

He said with Faith, he is optimistic that parishioners would trusting in God’s promises and living by the teachings of Christ.

He prayed that under his leadership , parishioners would embrace honesty and transparency to foster trust and unity.

He also assured to assist parishioners spread the Gospel and fostering spiritual growth.

“Creating a vibrant, inclusive fellowship… and keeping Christ at the core of our mission will be ensured,” he noted.

He added: “Our mission is to make these values tangible in every aspect of our Parish life. As
St. Paul reminds us, ‘Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”‘

“Each of us plays a vital role in this sacred mission, reflecting Christ’s presence through our collective efforts,” he opined.

To guide the journey of our tenure of office, he indicated that “we will strategically focus more on increasing Catholic spirituality and evangelism led by our priests.”

According to Mr. Asarfo Adjei, enhancing community engagement and welfare of parishioners as well as
creating a conducive worship environment and developing a project bank would be some of the areas to be prioritized.

Other areas he mentioned his administration would focus on is strengthening youth and family programmes, embracing technology and communication systems.

The rest are promoting interfaith initiatives and community outreach and ensuring financial sustainability and effective resource management.

“It is our firm belief that any marginal positive realization in the above objectives and goals would make our Parish a vibrant, loving, and Christ-Centered Community,” he stated.

The new PPC inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Hope Klutsey, Parish Priest of St. Francis of Assisi Church has the following as executives: Rev. Fr. Hope Klutsey, SMA- President; Rev. Fr. Benjamin Benectus Bondzie, SMA – Vice President; Mr. Augustine Asarfo -Adjei – Chairman and Mr. Kwaku Akosa Sarpong – Vice Chairman.

The rest are Mrs. Aba – Kra Mensah – Secretary; Mr. Selorm Agbely – Assistant Secretary; Mr. Daniel Yekple – Financial Secretary; and Mrs. Anna Kaba – Assistant Financial Secretary.

Fr. Klutse advised the new pastoral councillors to endeavour to avail themselves to work for the good of the Parish.
