The Right Honourable Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament made the call when the Union was inaugurated on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at the Parish.

In a message read on his behalf by Honourable James Agalga, Member of Parliament for Builsa-North, the Speaker said the Northern part of Ghana in particular had benefited immensely from the Catholic Church and so it was just proper that such a Union was formed in order to render selfless services to the church.
“Let me congratulate my brothers and sisters from the north, who have mobilized themselves into a union in order to render their services well to the church,” he stated.
He added, “They know how much we have benefited from the Catholic church, especially in areas of moral discipline and the social impact, and I hope that they will understand what it means to contribute to societal growth through the church.”
Speaker Bagbin urged them to stay united and lead exemplary lives worth emulating, adding that when various groups and societies in the church are united for a common cause, it goes a long way to foster a united church for productive growth.
Earlier, Hon. James Agalga inspected a Guard of Honour mounted by Knights and Ladies Auxiliary of St. John International and was ushered into the church by the Wanye Dagaaba Cultural Troupe.
