Official YouTube Channel Launched for Alakple to Showcase Rich Anlo Heritage

Alakple, the oldest settlement in Anlo land has officially launched its YouTube channel in a groundbreaking move to digitally preserve and promote its unique cultural heritage.

Located in the southern part of Ghana’s Volta Region, Alakple is renowned for its deep-rooted traditions and vibrant customs that have stood the test of time. With this digital initiative, the town is opening its doors to the world, offering an immersive look into its history, ceremonies, music, festivals, and day-to-day life.

The YouTube channel, dubbed “ALAKPLE -THE HIDDEN CITY OF ANLO” is more than just a media platform. It is a celebration of identity and an invitation for people across the globe to witness the exquisite culture of a community that has for generations held fast to its heritage.

Through engaging visuals and storytelling, the channel seeks to connect with both locals and the global diaspora, as well as cultural enthusiasts everywhere.

“We pride in who we are and what we do,” said  Juliana Ama Kplorfia, the Chairperson of the  2025 Alakple Easter Festival Durbar on Saturday, April 19.

“Alakple has always been a beacon of tradition, and now we have the opportunity to share that legacy with the world, ” she said.

With its official launch, Alakple joins the growing movement of indigenous communities harnessing the power of digital media to preserve history, strengthen identity, and promote tourism.

Subscribers and viewers can now explore the rich heritage of Alakple on YouTube under the channel name: ‘Alakple – THE HIDDEN CITY’.
