The inevitability of change is not in doubt. Change may make us better or bitter, happy or unhappy, depending on how we understand or perceive it.
The fact of change is that it affects us in ways that may be desirable or undesirable. We can initiate change or respond to change.
Initiated change usually has an expected or controlled outcome. Change that is unexpected or uncontrolled will still affect us for good or for bad. We are the authors of change that we initiate.
Our response to unexpected change will determine its impact on us. We need not necessarily be victims of unexpected change. We can control unexpected change by changing our mindset concerning the effect of such change. A positive response to change will give us control over the effects of that change.
Understand that while change may be inevitable, our response will determine the impact of such change.
A positive response will make us beneficiaries, even if the change is unexpected. See the opportunity in unexpected change to make you a beneficiary instead of a victim.
