I have just returned from a deeply meaningful and historic experience in Vatican City, where I had the honour of attending the Solemn Inaugural Mass of the Pontificate of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV from 18–19 May 2025.
The Pentecostal World Fellowship (PWF) was officially invited to participate in this special occasion. I was privileged to attend alongside Rev. Dr. David Wells, Vice Chair of PWF and Chair of the Christian Unity Commission.
The Inaugural Mass was deeply moving, rich in solemnity and spiritual significance. It brought together a wide array of global religious leaders and dignitaries, including Presidents, Vice Presidents, and Royals, along with representatives of Christian leaders, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, and other faith traditions.
Pope Leo XIV’s homily was profound. He called all people—Christians, people of other faiths, seekers, and those of goodwill—to walk together in love and unity.
He emphasized that the Church must never rely on power or propaganda, but only on the love of Christ. His vision is one of bridges, not barriers.
The next day, during a private audience with religious leaders, the Pope reaffirmed his deep commitment to Christian unity.
He reminded us that although we are many, in Christ, we are one. His words were both encouraging and deeply challenging, calling us all to greater faithfulness, prayer, and unity.

My sincere thanks to the leadership of PWF for entrusting me with this responsibility. May we continue to pray and work together so that, as Jesus prayed, “they may all be one.”
In the next few days, I will be posting some news from Vatican.
Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah (Immediate Past Chairperson of the Church of Pentecost)
