Pentecost Hospitals Among Top Health Facilities in Ghana

Must read

Pentecost Hospital-Madina is the largest Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG) facility in the Greater Accra Region and one of three highest scored Safecare-assessed CHAG facilities in Ghana, Dr. Peter Yeboah, the Executive Director of the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG), has revealed.

According to Dr. Yeboah, who is also the President of the Federation of World Christian Health Association, Pentecost Hospital-Madina is one of only three CHAG facilities with a “Grade 4” rating under the “Safe Care” international standards assessment for health facilities.

It is also the highest-rated CHAG institution in terms of leadership and governance, with an unprecedented score of 72%. Pentecost Hospital-Tarkwa, the only CHAG institution in Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality, received a 50% rating as well.

The CHAG boss disclosed this on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, in a key note address at the dedication ceremony for the Pentecost Hospital-Tarkwa at the E.K Kyei Worship Centre Tarkwa.

In his speech, Dr. Yeboah commended The Church of Pentecost for her continuous investment in providing enhanced healthcare delivery for the poor, needy, marginalised, and other deprived communities.

“Consistent with your core values of equity and connection with the poor and needy, these facilities are widely spread across the country. With barely eight facilities, Pentecost healthcare facilities provide out-patient services to 171,000 Ghanaians annually,” he said.

The CHAG Director further revealed that Pentecost Health service cumulatively records 7,200 admissions and supervises an average of 5,000 new deliveries annually.

“On average they contribute 3.5 per cent of the entire CHAG health service output,” he added.

Dr. Yeboah, therefore, urged the Church to consolidate and build on the gains made by making strategic investments in the health sector in all sixteen regions of the country to provide improved healthcare access to deprived communities.

He averred that active evangelisation through health and healing ministry could result in a high yield of souls and the Church must continue to explore it.

He also urged the Church to be actively involved in the professional, moral and ethical formation of healthcare professionals for better healthcare delivery in the country.
