The President of the Conference of Major Superiors of Religious, Ghana (CMSRG), Very Rev. Fr. Paul Saa-Dade Ennin, SMA, has commended Sisters of various Female Religious Congregations for availing themselves to be trained on how to write stories aimed at making the activities of their congregations visible.
In a closing remarks on December 23, 2022 after a five-day training in media and communications, he said the training would go a long way to assist the Conference to to make its activities visible in the country and beyond.
He urged the participants to be at service to the CMSRG and to promote the Catholic faith wherever they find themselves.
The December 19 to 23, 2022 training was organised by the CMSRG and facilitated by Mr. Damian Dieu Donne, Mr. Robert Mawunyegah and Mr. Ernest Senanu Dovlo of Global NewsWatch Media and Communications, aimed at equipping the Sisters with news reporting and communication skills.
In all, 13 Sisters from nine Religious Congregations attended the training at the Provincial House of the Society of African Missions (SMA) at Oshuiman, Accra
Some of the topics treated were Public Communication Skills, Basics of Journalism, news writing and reporting, photography and videography and interviewing skills.
Fr. Ennin urged the Sisters to always report on activities of their Congregations every week and charged them not to wait to be prompted to write because news is everywhere.
He asked them to be proactive and innovative in the propagation of the activities of your various Congregations and Institutes, the CMSRG and the Church as a whole, he added.
He also entreated the Sisters to open their eyes to see what was happening around them and bring them out through writing, saying, “There are many things being done by the religious that are not known”.
“We need to be visible in the media, our stories are needed for publication by the media,” he challenged them, adding, “Don’t go and sleep, we need to make yourselves available whenever the conference calls on you, work hard so that the conference would reward you.”
Fr. Ennin assured the Sisters that the CMSRG would engage them in whichever way so that their training would not be in vain.
He thanked the facilitators of the training for their professionalism and prayed that the training would go a long way to achieve its purpose.
Sr. Theodora Adzayawo, SMMC, the Secretary General of CMSRG and the Convener of the Media and Communication Training Programme, thanked the Facilitators for their tireless efforts in training the participants and urged the participants to put all that they learnt into practice.

Sharing their impressions about the training, the participants expressed joy about expectations such as writing skills improved, active on social media, and evangelization through the media being met. They appealed to the conference to make this exercise go on.
On behalf of the Sister participants, Sr. Blewu expressed gratitude to the organisers of the training session, CMSRG, the facilitators for their sacrifices, and the participants for playing active role to make the training session a success.
In a homily at a Mass prior to the closing ceremony, Rev. Fr. Paschal Delmwine Deo-angyi, SMA, entreated the faithful, especially the participants of the media training session not to sit in their comfort zones but reach out to people who need their services to the best of their ability.
The Mass was presided over by Fr. Ennin and concelebrated by three SMA Priests.
