A retired Pharmacist and a devoted Catholic from the Konongo-Mampong Diocese, Mr. Edward Kwaku Kwao has donated a GH₵100, 000 as seed money to support the implementation of the National Catholic TV Project whose Executive Council was officially inaugurated on Monday, June 14, 2021 at the National Catholic Secretariat, NCS in Accra.
Mr. Kwaku Kwao who is a Parishioner of the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Dansoman-Accra said the donation is in appreciation and thanksgiving to God for two successful different medical surgeries he had abroad.
According to Mr. Kwao, he had to respond to the silent voice of God to support this initiative by the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference after his personal prayerful experience during his devotion on a Canadian TV Network, adding, “I was convinced Ghana could have the same thing.”
Most Rev. Philip Naameh, the President of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference and Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Tamale, who received the donation, thanked Mr. Kwao for his kind gesture and love for the Catholic Church saying, “when we formed the Committee to work we had no idea where the seed money was going to come from but the kind gesture from Mr. Kwao and other well-meaning Catholic have demonstrated their true love for the Church.”
Together with the other Priests and Religious present, the Archbishop prayed for Mr. Kwao and his family especially for his complete healing.
Present at the short ceremony were the Vicar- General of the Archdiocese of Accra, Very Fr. Dr. John Kobina Louis, Very Rev. Fr. Lazarus Anondee, the Secretary-General of the National Catholic Secretariat, Very Rev. Fr. Charles Boampong Sarfo, Assistant Secretary-General, Fr. Dieu-Donne Kofi Davor, Executive Secretary for the Department of Social Communications, Ign. Dr. Kenneth Ashigbey, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Implementation Committee of the National Catholic TV Project, Mr. Andy Agyekum and Members of the Implementation Committee.
