Sek-Tadi: Apostolic Administrator Urges Catholic Faithful To Be Conversant With Synod Act
Very Reverend Father John Baptiste Attakruh, Apostolic Administrator of the Catholic Diocese of Sekondi-Takoradi has call priests, religious and the lay faithful to become conversant with the contents of the Acts of the First Diocesan Synod convened in 2015 by then Bishop of the diocese, Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie.
According to him “the Synodal Act contains relevant information for all Catholics in the diocese. The document touches on priestly and religious life, marriage and family life, issues concerning the youth, Church Administration and Finance among others.”
He urged Catholics within the diocese to be “familiar with the content of Synodal Act which was a result of months of prayer, reflection and broad consultation with various stakeholders within the diocese.”
Father Attakruh further added that “fifty years have passed since the establishment of this diocese. Those who have gone before us have contributed their quota towards the mission of the Church. We who are here today are the foundation members of the next fifty years. Let us arise and build together.“
He also encouraged all present to be people who “do not hold grudges against others.” “There is no limit to God’s forgiveness. There should be no limit to our forgiveness too. When we forgive others of their offences, God will also forgive us and grant that which we ask from him” he added.
The Apostolic Administrator made these remarks during Mass when he visited the St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral, Sekondi on Sunday, September 13, 2020.
Very Reverend Father John Baptist Attakruh also expressed gratitude to Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, former bishop of the Diocese on the occasion of his sixth episcopal anniversary and prayed for “wisdom, good health and strength” for him.
