“Sharing God’s Word Requires no Pulpit, Academic Qualifications – Pastor

Must read

Christians have been challenged to understand that, one does not need a pulpit to share God’s Word with others.

Neither must anyone allow his or her academic qualifications and handicap in the reading and comprehension of a particular language, to deter him or her from proclaiming the Word of God to neighbours.

Rev. Gabriel S. Annan, Principal of the Restoration Community Chapel (RCC) School of Ministry, in a sermon at the Amrahia branch of the RCC on Sunday, August 8, 2021, further asserted that a person desirous of letting the world know of God’s laws and ordinances, and how they impart positively on the life of the believer, does not need to be given a pulpit at a church service before he or she can testify.

He suggested to people who may have difficulty in reading the Bible on their own to get someone to read and interpret for them (where applicable), and also make it a point to be attentive in church during sermons and then share with others, what they learn during such encounters.

He did not mince words in declaring to the congregation that the zeal and love for God and His Kingdom would propel a person to make God’s Word central in his or her daily conversations irrespective of prevailing life’s ups and downs because faithful servants of God are resolute about their decision and determination to honour God at all times.

As a model worthy of emulation for the present-day believer who is eager to share God’s Word, Rev. Annan encouraged such brothers and sisters in the faith, to emulate Biblical Ezra in their approach to dealing with the Word of God.

“Ezra devoted himself to the study of the laws of the Lord. He was determined in his heart to read, obey and share with others. He also committed himself to his perseverance. That should be your attitude in your walk with Christ”, he stated.

“For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel”’ he quoted Ezra 7:10 (NKJV)

The man of God told the congregation emphatically that “If you want to experience God’s favour and continuous divine provision, then you have no other choice than to have a heart for His Word and Kingdom”.

This means, “we must learn the Word daily without fail, endeavor to do as the Word commands, and make sure we share what we learn with others”, he said.

He added that the life of a believer must depict the Word of God at work in him or her.

“Know that God promises that if His children meditate on His Word daily and do as told, then they will prosper. It’s a promise from God and He is ever faithful”.

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success”, the Reverend again quoted from Joshua 1:8 (NKJV)

The question “What is your attitude towards the Word of God” rhetorically featured in his sermon a couple of times signifying the importance Christians must attach to God’s Word because the Word is and must remain the handbook and manual for their lives.

Rev. Annan cautioned that a person’s failure to consciously and consistently read and meditate on God’s Word could make him/her a victim at the hands of those who have made it a point to deceive and enslave ignorant people.
