Must read

At the end of a  nine-day training session for Sister Communicators in media and communications,  evaluations have been made to path a way forward for implementation of skills learned at the Centre for Spiritual Renewal Santase -Kumasi from  May 6 to 14, 2024, for an unexamined life is not worth living.

The Sister Communicators came from ten Religious congregations in Ghana and have undergone practical engagement in news story and feature writing, interviewing skills, website management, facebook live streaming and photography and videography, amongst others.

Thankful to God for making it possible for the Sisters to have the training, Sr. Cecilia Afari, SMMC, Coordinator of the training remarked that “if it must be done it must be done well.”

Sr. Afari, who had energy based on her exposure to vocational skills training, said she has been motivated by a mentor who pulled her along to work hard to make vocational training appealing.

“When you start something new, put your energy into it to make it work,” she noted

She added: “Be reminded that there’s going to come a time where environment doesn’t not give us space to pray,” saying, “Let’s be flexible in our life and make up for prayer when possible.”

She emphasised that all expectations might not be met in terms of food, accommodation, but the ultimate expectations has been met that is the training.

On behalf of the Sister Communicators, Sr. Juliana Atuuna, SMI, thanked the Project Coordinator and the facilitators for their support and promised on behalf of all that “we will not disappoint them.”

“Participants are more than grateful for the opportunity given to them to explore the social communications sphere particularly in the Catholic Church, she said.

She equally extended to the Conference of Major Superiors of Religious, Ghana, the Conrad Hilton Foundation, the donor agency, for support to make this a reality and the Institute of Sisters of Mary Mother of the Church for the bold step to make the project successful.
