Six Ordained Priests For Keta-Akatsi Catholic Diocese

The Diocese of Keta-Akatsi in the Volta Region on October 10, 2021 ordained 6 new Priests to the mother Catholic Church. This year’s ordination took place in the Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church, Tsiame.

The ordaining bishop, Most Rev. Gabriel Edoe Kumordji, SVD, in his homily stated that Priesthood is a gift to the church and also a ministry ordained by God to impact society positively. He again urged the people of God to learn to love their priests for them enjoy the ministry.

Most Rev. Gabriel Edoe Kumordji, SVD also tasked the newly ordained Priests to love and nourish their people with the word of God and use the formation they had to impact and influence the society to the glory of God.

The Priestly Ordination had in attendance congregants from within and outside the Diocese. This colourful event was one of its kind and the first in the history of the Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church, Tsiame. Traditional leaders of the Tsiame traditional area were present to grace the event.

PROFILE OF THE NEWLY ORDAINED PRIESTS AND POSTINGS

Rev. Fr. Pascal Innocent Selormey.

Rev. Fr. Pascal Innocent Selormey is a Parishioner of St. Michael Co-Cathedral Church, Keta and he hails from Dzelukope.

He had his basic education at Bishop Herman Basic School and Keta R.C Basic School and then proceeded to St. Paul’s Minor Seminary, Denu for his Second Cycle Education. After a successful completion, he continued to St. Mary’s Minor Seminary, Lolobi for his Pre-Philosophical Studies and then to St. Paul’s Major Seminary, Sowutuom for his Philosophical Studies. He finally gained admission to St. Peter’s major seminary, Pedu for his Theological Studies and graduated successfully in 2021.

He was ordained a Deacon in April, 2021 by the Bishop of Keta-Akatsi Diocese, Most. Rev. Gabriel Edoe Kumordjie (SVD).

Rev.Fr. Pascal Innocent choose VIVERE CHRISTUS EST – For me, To Live is Christ – Phil 1:21 as his ordination theme. He is posted to Holy Cross Catholic Church, Sogakope as his first station.

 

Rev.Fr. Michael Selasi Combey

Rev.Fr. Michael Selasi Combey is a Parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Border – Afloa and he hails from Aflao.He had his basic education at Aflao lowcost Primary School and Sts. Peter and Paul Amalgamated JSS, Aflao and then proceeded to St. Paul’s Minor Seminary, Denu for his Second Cycle Education. After a successful completion, he continued to St. Mary’s Minor Seminary, Lolobi for his Pre-Philosophy and then to St. Paul’s Major Seminary, Sowutuom for his Philosophical Studies. He finally gained admission to St. Peter’s major seminary, Pedu for his Theological Studies and graduated successfully in 2021.

Rev. Michael Selasi Combey has as his ordination Theme: NOTHING BUT YOU, LORD – St. Thomas Aquinas. Rev.Fr. Michael Selasi Combey is posted to St. Michael Co-Cathedral Church, Keta as his first station.

Rev. Fr. Godsway Alato

Rev.Fr. Godsway Alato is a Parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Ave – Dakpa and hails from Ave – Dakpa.

He had his basic education at New Ayoma R.C basic school and Sogakope Comboni JSS and then proceeded to St. Paul’s Minor Seminary for his Second Cycle Education. After a successful completion, he continued to St. Mary’s Minor Seminary, Lolobi for his Pre-Philosophy and then to St. Paul’s Major Seminary, Sowutuom for his Philosophical Studies. He finally gained admission to St. Peter’s major seminary, Pedu for his Theological Studies and graduated successfully in 2021.

Rev. Fr. Godsway Alato is inspired with the theme: FOR WHO HATH KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD – Romans 11:34 as his ordination theme. Rev. Fr. Godsway Alato is posted to St. Francis of Assis Catholic Church, Juapong.

Rev. Simon Agede

Rev. Simon Agede is a Parishioner of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church Akatsi Agbedrafor and also hails from Akatsi Agbedrafor. He had his basic education at Kpong and Secondary education at Akuse all in the Eastern Region.

He then gained admission to Institute Superieur of Don Bosco where he studied Philosophy from 2011 to 2014. He proceeded to Tchad for his noviciate from 2014 to 2016.He continued to St. Peter’s Major Seminary for his four years Theology. Rev.Fr. Simon belongs to the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus, in the Togo Ghana and Benin Province. He had his Pastoral duties at Lomé precisely Marie Mere du Redempteur Parish in Adidogome.

Rev. Fr. Simon Agede has as his ordination Theme: LORD, YOU KNOW EVERYTHING, YOU KNOW THAT I LOVE YOU. – (John 21:17). The country and parish for his first posting is yet to be known.

Rev.Fr. Lambert Kwashie Adzah

Rev. Fr. Lambert Kwashie Adzah is a Parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Aflao and hails from Lome-Be. He had his basic education at EP basic, Aflao, Amazing Love School, Denu and Calvary Ranson JSS and then proceeded to St. Paul’s Minor Seminary for his Second Cycle Education. After a successful completion, he continued to St. Mary’s Minor Seminary, Lolobi for his Pre-Philosophy and then to St. Paul’s Major Seminary, Sowutuom for his Philosophical Studies. He finally gained admission to St. Peter’s major seminary, Pedu for his Theological Studies and graduated successfully in 2021.

He was ordained a Deacon in April, 2021 by the Bishop of Keta-Akatsi Diocese, Most. Rev. Gabriel Edoe Kumordjie (SVD). Rev.Fr. Lambert Adzah is inspired by the theme: OH LORD, MAY I KNOW YOU, MAY I KNOW MYSELF – St. Augustine. He is posted to St. Theresa of Avilla Catholic Church, Adutor.

Rev. Fr. Raphael Etornam Vedenku

Rev.Fr. Raphael Etornam Vedenku is a Parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Aflao and hails from Goviepe Korwu. He had his basic education at Sepenukope JSS and then proceeded to St. Paul’s Minor Seminary, Denu for his Second Cycle Education. After a successful completion, he continued to St. Mary’s Minor Seminary, Lolobi for his Pre-Philosophical Studies and then to St. Paul’s Major Seminary, Sowutuom for his Philosophical Studies.
