The Ghana Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP) has inaugurated its new national executive council for a 3-year office term. The ceremony took place at the Ss. Anne and Joachim Catholic Church, Teshie in Accra.
The ceremony which was held on the first Sunday of the year 2022 had Rev. Fr. Andrew Campbell, SVD, the National Spiritual Advisor of the SSVP Â presiding over the Mass and doubled as the installing officer with Rev. Fr. Anthony Asare, the Parish Priest of Ss. Anne and Joachim Catholic Church as a concelebrant.
Fr. Campbell urged members of the society to be on fire to evangelise through the Catholic Church to the poor and needy persons scattered throughout Ghana, noting that it is the mission of Christ’s faithful.
The Executive Council comprises the National President, Vincent Joseph Tettey Ahulu; 1st National Vice President, John Mensah-Woode; 2nd National Vice President, Prof. Gabriel Teye; Training and Formation Officer, Frank Opoku; National Twinning and Aggregation Officer, Gilbert Gadzekpo; National Treasurer, Gabriel Asempa-Antwi; National Youth Co-Ordinator, Richard Zisse Nutsuglo; National Secretary, Joana Monford; and the Assistant National Secretary, Emilio Owusu-Asante.
The other Board Members are Frank Vittor, Micheal Xaste, Gen. (Rtd.) Augustine Peter Blay and Audrey Mensah.
Present at the ceremony were members of Ss. Anne and Joachim Catholic Church, members of the Society of St. Vincent De Paul (SSVP), friends and well-wishers.
