Sunyani Diocese Holds Major Youth Rally

Must read

Hundreds of young people from across the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani gathered at the Queen of Peace Grotto in Amanfoso, in the Bono Region of Ghana for a three-day youth rally.

The event, which began on February 27 and concluded on March 1, 2026, was held under the inspiring theme: “Catholic Youth on Mission.”

This rally served as a highlight for the diocese, which had officially designated 2026 as the “Year of Youth.” The initiative aimed to empower young Catholics to take an active role in the Church’s mission and to strengthen their faith in a modern world.

A key feature of the rally was the close interaction between the youth and the clergy.

Priests and Consecrated Persons spent significant time mentoring the participants, helping them navigate the important process of vocational discernment.

To ensure the young pilgrims understood how they might be called to serve, there was a teaching and interaction session which explained the different forms of vocation within the Church, including: Priesthood, Consecrated Life, Married Life and Single Life.

The session was designed to be interactive and easy to understand, allowing the youth to ask questions and seek personal guidance on how to identify their “authentic vocation”—the specific path God had chosen for them.
