The National Catholic Laity Council ( NCLC) in Ghana, has urged all Catholics to support their priests during these unusual times of Corona Virus pandemic.
In a press statement signed by Prof. Elias Sowley, the Chairman of the NCLC, said “even though we no longer attend Masses at our various parishes or places of worship, we should continue supporting our priests by taking care of their daily needs”.
The statement issued on April 10, 2020, also encouraged members to reach out to the needy in their various societies irrespective of their background, race, tribe or religion for as the Lord Jesus said in the Gospel of Matthew 5:7, assuring believers of eternal happiness for their merciful deeds.
In showing gratitude to the priests, the Statement, noted “we thank our Clergy who continue to pray for us during their ‘private’ masses and the various religious congregations and other societies for their intercessory prayers”.
The Laity Council again asked Catholics to support the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference’s appeal for funds and donations to support the fight against COVID-19.
