The St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Tegbi in the Keta- Akatsi Diocese of the Volta Region of Ghana has officially launched its Centenary Celebration with a thanksgiving Mass and fundraising ceremony held at the Church premises on Sunday, February 8, 2026.

The Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Most Rev. Emmanuel Kofi Fianu, SVD, Bishop of Ho Diocese and a native of Tegbi.

In his homily, Bishop Fianu spoke on the theme, “Come and hear all you who fear God and I will tell you what He has done for me” (Psalm 66:16).

He encouraged the faithful to live lives that testify to the goodness of God. He urged Christians to ensure that their attitude and behaviour reflect the example of Christ.

The Bishop further admonished the congregation to be the light wherever they find themselves and to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the Church, especially during this Centenary Celebrations.

The second part of the celebration was the official launch of the centenary activities. The event was chaired by Mr. John Senanu, with Her Ladyship Dr. Mrs. Bridgette Kafui Anthonio Afedzi as the Special Guest of Honour.

During the official launch, funds were raised to support the year-long activities leading to the grand climax of the centenary celebration in December 2026.

Parishioners of St. Anthony of Padua, both at home and abroad, have been encouraged to offer financial support or donate building materials towards the renovation of the Parish Basic School Classroom Unit as one of the legacy projects for the Centenary Celebrations.

The 100th Anniversary Celebration is expected to feature various spiritual and social activities aimed at strengthening faith, unity, and development within the parish community.
