If Jesus Christ has not been raised from the dead by God the Father, there would not have been meaning and significance in our Christian calling.
Therefore, the Resurrection of Jesus has given Christians their rebirth and inalienable identity, Rev. Fr. John Chomba Muranga, M. Afr, has said.
Fr. Muranga was preaching the sermon at the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church at Nii Boiman in the Archdiocese of Accra on Easter Sunday April 17, 2022.
He noted that the Resurrection of Jesus meant a new creation of life, adding that Christians were now new creatures with a renewed spirit, calling for joy and celebration.
The Missionary of Africa Priest reiterated that the Rising from death by Christ Jesus has transformed Christians for which reason everyone must depart from the sinful past.
Rev. Father Muranga said Christians should share the joy of the Resurrection of Jesus by being loving, forgiving, generous, charitable and peaceful.
“We are men and women of Easter. The Resurrection of Jesus has given meaning to our Christians calling, something that has brought us immense joy. Let us share this joy with one another, loving one another, encouraging one another, forgiving one another,” he said.
Reminding the faithful that God created mankind in His own image, the Former Parish Priest of the St. Benedict Catholic Church in the Wa Diocese, warned that “anytime we insult the other person we are insulting God.”
The Mass was concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Mathias Gyato, Priest-In-Charge of the St. Joseph the Worker Church and attended by Hundreds of parishioners clad in white apparel to make the joy of Easter.
