90 Government PROs to Benefit from Discounted IPR Ghana Membership

Must read

Ninety Government Public Relations Officers are set to become professional members of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR), Ghana, under a special discounted registration package.

The package is the result of a new partnership between the Ministry of Government Communications and IPR Ghana to raise professional standards in the public sector.

The Minister for Government Communications, Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, announced this at the 2026 National PR Summit in Koforidua, in an address read on his behalf by his Deputy, Hajia Shamima Muslim.

He commended IPR Ghana for the gesture, noting that it goes beyond symbolism to address a critical capacity gap in government communication.

According to the Minister, the move will give government communicators access to the Institute’s accreditation programmes, mentorship initiatives and continuous professional development platforms.

He said a professionalized corps of government PROs is essential if government must communicate credibly and bridge the gap between government and the people, rather than just telling government’s story.

The Ministry, he added, will continue to work with IPR Ghana to ensure public sector communicators operate with the ethical grounding and strategic competence required of the profession.
