A workshop has been held for forty-four Temporary Professed Religious Brothers and Sisters in the Sunyani Diocese and its vicinity on the topic: “Life after Profession of Vows: How to Merge Ministry, Mission, Apostolate, Academics and Community Life.”

The March 9, 2024 Workshop which took place at the Novitiate of the Holy Spirit Sister (SSPS) at Domasua in the Diocese of Sunyani Ghana, was facilitated by Sr. Beatrice Venyellu, SSL.

It was organised by the leaders in charge of the Temporary Professed of the various Congregations in the Diocese of Sunyani with some coming from Kumasi and Obuasi Arch/Dioceses.

The goal of the Workshop was for the participants to gain insight that is inspiring and based on the realities of today’s Religious Life and also to appreciate community living, to enhance awareness about the realities of community life and the authenticity of living a community life.

Sr. Venyellu discussed with the participants the topic, “What are the challenges faced in our Communities.”

Sr. Beatrice Venyellu, SSL

She told the participants that as humans living in Religious Communities they would surely face challenges but reminded them that they can’t change anyone in their communities but they can change themselves for Community they want.

She highlighted on some the things that would help the participants to make their communities their home, including Prayers which she encouraged them to do unceasingly.

She reminded them that in being prayerful, they should not be self-centered but place the interest of others first, accept fraternal correction, avoid unhealthy competition gossips and tribalism.

The facilitator reminded the participants that freedom goes with responsibilities, noting that unlike in the Novitiate where things were structured, the Community was different and one had to make that cautious efforts to observe the things that they were taught in formation.
