The Global Newswatch Media and Communications, managers of the online news portal newswatchgh.com and offers multimedia and communications services is the lead facilitator of a three-day media and capacity-building training workshop for Catholic Sister Communicators in Kumasi, Ghana’s Ashanti Regional Capital.
The workshop, currently ongoing at the Centre for Spiritual Renewal in the Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi and expected to end on Saturday, August 1, 2026 brought together about 40 Catholic Sister Communicators from 22 Religious Congregations across Ghana.
It aims to strengthen the participants’ communication skills and equip them with practical knowledge to support the communication ministries of their congregations and the Catholic Church in general.
On Thursday, July 30, participants received training on Website Management and Ethics, facilitated by Mr. Eric Coco Mawuenyegah, an IT and Development professional with over 10 years of experience in Information Technology, Website Development & Management, Digital Communications, Programme Coordination, and Community Engagement.
During the session, he guided the Sisters through the fundamentals of creating and managing their own websites. He also highlighted the ethical principles of website management, emphasizing responsible content publishing, credibility, accuracy, privacy, and maintaining a professional online presence.
The three-day workshop will also cover interview techniques and mock interview sessions, photography, videography and editing, livestreaming, and social media skills. These practical sessions are expected to equip the Sister Communicators with the knowledge and skills needed to communicate the Church’s mission effectively through modern media platforms.
The training reflects CASCON-GH’s commitment to building the capacity of Catholic Sister Communicators and preparing them to respond effectively to the growing demands of digital communication while promoting professionalism, ethical media practice, and effective evangelisation.
