The Greater Accra Region is bracing for a significant economic windfall as over 10,000 international delegates are expected to arrive for the 10th Triennial World Assemblies of God Congress.
The announcement was made at a Press Conference held on Thursday, 1st October, 2026, at the Assemblies of God Headquarters in Accra.
The conference was addressed by the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, and was attended by the Assistant General Superintendent, members of the Executive Presbytery, church leadership, ministers of the church and members of the Local Organising Committee (LOC).
Rev. Wengam disclosed that the Congress, scheduled for October 14 to 16, 2026 at the Black Star Square, will host delegates from over 100 countries across all continents.

He explained that the historic convergence will serve as a magnet to attract thousands of tourists and a good number of investors to Ghana, thereby impacting the national economy positively.
According to him, the hospitality industry, including hotels, guest houses and restaurants, will be the biggest beneficiary, as all 10,000 participants will require accommodation and feeding for three days.

Beyond hospitality, he noted that thousands of local businesses, transport operators, food vendors, petty traders and souvenir sellers will also benefit massively from the influx.
Rev. Wengam revealed that His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, who is a member of Assemblies of God, Ghana, and First Lady, Lordina Mahama, will grace the opening ceremony, along with 18 Ministers of State and other high-profile personalities, confirming the government’s strong backing for the global event.
He concluded that the Congress is not just a church event but a national assignment that will sell Ghana’s image maximally to the world.
