The Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 2026 World Assemblies of God Congress, Rev. Nelson Awintia, has been widely commended for his exceptional leadership and successful organisation of the historic global gathering.

The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, President John Dramani Mahama, and members of the Assemblies of God fraternity have all lauded Rev. Awintia and his team for their dedication, sacrifice and commitment to excellence.

The 10th Triennial World Assemblies of God Fellowship Congress was held from October 14 to 16, 2026, in Accra. It was historic as the first time in the 115-year history of the Assemblies of God that the global congress was hosted in Africa.

Held on the theme: “Commissioned: One Mandate, Every Nation” – Matthew 28:18-20, the congress brought together over 10,000 pastors, church leaders and delegates from more than 100 countries.

Morning leadership and capacity-building sessions were held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), while open evening revival rallies took place at the Accra Sports Stadium, featuring renowned gospel ministers including Joe Mettle of Ghana, Dunsin Oyekan and Sinach of Nigeria, and Angela Donadio from the United States.

The Congress also advanced the global MM33 Agenda – the vision to plant one million Assemblies of God churches worldwide by 2033 to mark 2,000 years since the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ.

The Congress climaxed with the announcement that Argentina has been selected to host the next World Assemblies of God Congress in 2029.
