The Global Evangelical Church, Agape Chapel, Ashalley Botwe, celebrated its 30th Anniversary on 18th October, 2026, reflecting on the theme “Preaching Christ, Our Mission.”
The event brought together members, leaders, and guests for a service of worship, reflection, and thanksgiving.
The Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church, Rt. Rev. Prosper Samuel Dzomeku, delivered the anniversary sermon.

He recounted the church’s journey, and honored the sacrifices made by early members to plant the church.
He remarked that if someone had predicted the current state of the church — with its beautiful new chapel — it would have been a great surprise.
Drawing on the chapel’s beauty, he imagined the glory of heaven and urged Christians to be heavenly minded, to live godly lives, and to make heaven their ultimate goal.

Resident Pastor, Rev. Francis Edzorna Doe, also paid tribute to past leaders, acknowledging the sacrifices of Revs. Shelter Senehia, Avotri, Gbadagba, Amedeka, and Newlove Debrah.
The occasion was graced by Rev. Emmanuel Bredzei, Chairman of the Accra Presbytery; Rev. Emmanuel Wisdom Ashiaby; Rev. Godfred Kofi Ofori; Rev. Amedeka (Rtd.); and Rev. Prof. Hope Gbewonyo, with other ministers.
The church’s story began in 1995 when the Madina District Church Council formed an evangelism committee to reach areas including Ashalley Botwe.

Through house-to-house visitation and open-air crusades, a fellowship was established in the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Adzraku. The first service drew 18 people. By October 1999, the congregation had relocated to its permanent site with 133 members.
Looking ahead, Rev. Doe announced plans for intentional discipleship, a revived credit union scheme, and a preschool set to open next year.
The celebration also featured a sod-cutting ceremony for a new church complex, which will include a pastor’s office, offices for groups and ministries, a library, a learning center, a studio, a conference room, and apartments.

The event concluded with music, a cake-cutting ceremony, a traditional Agbadza performance, and a benediction by Rt. Rev. Dzomeku.
