The Bishop Herman Old Boys Union (BHOBU) has hailed the latest edition of the BHOBU Games Planning Committee-initiated BHOBU-POGA Global Health Walk as another resounding success, describing it as a strong step forward in activities leading up to the 75th Anniversary of Bishop Herman College in 2027.

The walk on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at various locations including Accra, Kpando, Ho, and Hohoe, were well attended.

In Accra, both BHOBU and members of the Psst OLA Girls Association (POGA) walked from Ayi Mensah to the Tarven Lodge at Peduase, participated in a terrifying aerobics and networking.

In a statement issued by the Interim Management Committee [IMC] on Sunday, July 5, 2026, the Leadership expressed heartfelt appreciation to the organisers of the BHOBU Games and to every BHOBU member, family member, and friend who participated in the walk across Ghana and in the diaspora.

“The remarkable turnout and shared enthusiasm were a powerful demonstration of the BHOBU spirit — united, vibrant, and committed to a common purpose,” the IMC stated.

According to the Committee, the Health Walk forms part of the official build-up to the BHOBU Games on September 19 and 75th Anniversary celebration of Bishop Herman Collegenext year, the all-boys Catholic Category ‘A’ institution founded in 1952 on the Akpini Hills in Kpando in the Volta Region.

The IMC also extended special appreciation to members of the Past OLA Girls Association (POGA). “A special word of appreciation goes to our POGA Ladies, whose energy, presence, and enthusiasm added colour and excitement to the event. Your support continues to strengthen the bond between our two great alumni communities,” the statement added.

The walk is part of a series of activities lined up for this year’s BHOBU Games, and ultimately towards the grand 75th Anniversary celebration in 2027.

As the alumni body builds on the success of this event, the IMC is urging members to sustain the momentum.

“We look forward to an even bigger participation at the next Health Walk as we build towards this year’s BHOBU Games and, ultimately, a memorable 75th Anniversary celebration,” the committee said.

The statement concluded with a call to unity:
“Together, we will make history. Together, we will celebrate 75 years of Bishop Herman College with pride, unity, and purpose.”
