Catholic Professionals Guild Launches 2024 May Games, Business Fair

The Catholic Professionals Guild (CPG) has officially launched the much-anticipated 9th edition of the annual May Day games and Business Fair scheduled for Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at St.  Thomas Aquinas SHS in Cantonment from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

The launching took place in some Parishes on Sunday, April 7 and is expected to take place in some parishes this coming Sunday, April 14, 2024.

Flashback: One of the May Day Games in Accra

The May Day Games and Business Fair is a flagship programme of the CPG which affords the platform to bring together all Catholic Professionals, irrespective of the groups or societies they belong to, in an environment of fun and games to socialize while building business networks.

It is an opportunity to identify solely as Catholics with different expertise thereby fostering unity and promoting oneness.

The theme for this year’s May Day Games is, “Harnessing our  potentials for Church Growth”, which reflects the Guild’s focus on providing a platform for all Catholic professionals to interact, have fun amidst networking and establish business links as well as an opportunity to showcase Catholic owned businesses.

The line up of activities for the May Day Games and Business Fair include rosary Prayers, Holy Mass to be presided over by the Archbishop of Accra, the Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, after which he would officially open the games.

The 2024 edition of the May Day Games would feature competitions in football, volleyball, table tennis, sack race and various indoor games among the different professionals Guild.

The Priests and Religious of Accra would be defending the football trophy they won at the last edition.

There would also be a business fair which would offer Catholic professionals the opportunity to showcase their businesses and products, with a registration fee of GHc200.

The Business Fair would be running concurrently with the games, hence, leaders of the CPG are therefore encouraging young entrepreneurs with start-up businesses to seize the opportunity for business growth and networking.

The Catholic Professionals Guild aims at identifying and establishing the growth of professional guild in accordance with the Catholic faith and also to facilitate the growth of members of the Guild, the Church’s mission and the society at large.

All Catholic professionals, businesses and societies are therefore encouraged to participate in the upcoming May games and business fair which promises to be a day filled with fun, networking and business growth.
