Must read

The Director of the Don Bosco Child Protection Centre, Rev. Fr. Rev. Fr. Anthony Dela Acquaye, SDB, has said his outfit is set to roll out a vocational skills training programme for some underprivileged females in the country.

According to him the centre, which focuses on helping to reintegrate rescued trafficked children has taken this course as a way of reaching out to more females who do not find themselves at the centre often.

This he noted is because more boys are trafficked than girls.

Speaking in an interview with Newswatchgh.com, Fr. Acquaye said the initiative which is the second of its kind will benefit about 40 individuals.

The Skills acquisition project for young adults rescued from agbogbloshie and Kasoa will see beneficiaries admitted at the Don Bosco Child Protection Centre between 3-4 months for rehabilitation ahead of the training.

Beneficiaries would be trained in beads making, fashion, cosmetology and hospitality among others and be awarded certificates by the Don Bosco Technical Institute as well as help them set up after the training.
