The 10th edition of the 2026 BHOBU Games recorded its biggest turnout yet, as hundreds of Old Boys of Bishop Herman College converged on the University of Ghana Stadium on Saturday, September 19, to celebrate a decade of brotherhood through sports, music and entertainment.
Organised by the Bishop Herman Old Boys Union (BHOBU), the annual alumni fun games have become the biggest reunion event on the BHOBU calendar, giving alumni a platform to reconnect, network and relive school memories through music, dance and sporting activities.
This year’s edition, held for the first time at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, lived up to the hype with competitions in indoor games, gaming, eating contests, athletics, football, and inter-house penalty shootouts by the GEMS of POGA, among others.
In athletics, the 2019 year group won gold after finishing first in Heat One of the 100m race, while the 2005 year group also claimed gold in Heat Two.
On the football pitch, the BHOBU 2018 year group won gold in the Young Category after beating the 2015 year group 4-3 on penalties in a thrilling final.
In the Senior or ‘Tsitsi’ Category, the 2003 year group capped a dominant campaign by defeating their Colonial Boys of the 2005 year group 1-0 to win gold, the special He-Goat, and emerge as the Tsitsi Champions of the landmark edition to lift the trophy.
This year’s BHOBU Games were witnessed by a large crowd of Old Boys, GEMS from POGA, the BIHECO Football Team and the award-winning Regimental Cadet Band, professionals, businessmen, celebrities and politicians, including Hon. Kofi Adams, Minister for Sports and Recreation, of the 1993 Year Group.
In an interview with http://newswatchgh.com, a Media Partner, a member of the BHOBU Games planning committee, Rev. Francis Edzorna Doe, described this year’s event as the biggest and most exciting so far.
“This is the 10th edition, and the crowd and participation were very massive. The old boys showed up to support. We’ve been having this event at other venues, but decided to bring it to the University of Ghana Sports Stadium. The euphoria was so high, and I think so far we’ve lived up to expectations and it’s been a success,” he said.
Rev. Doe said organisers are already looking ahead to next year, which coincides with the school’s 75th anniversary.
“Next year is our 75th anniversary as a College, so we don’t have a choice but to level up. Next year is going to be bigger and better. All the old boys are warming up, and I can’t wait,” he added.
In a statement issued after the games, the Planning Committee expressed heartfelt appreciation to all who made BHOBU Games 2026 a memorable success.

We look forward to seeing everyone again as we come together to celebrate BIHECO at 75. Until then, keep the brotherhood strong!” the statement noted.
