It was a fantastic moment when Sr. Belinda Bawa, HHCJ was adjudged the overall best graduating student of the year 2024 at the Graduation ceremony at the Catholic University Fiapre in the Sunyani Diocese. on Saturday, October 26, 2024.
Sr. Belinda was also the best graduating student for the faculty of education, obtained an award as the first female SRC Vice President of the Catholic University of Ghana, as well as received received the Vice Chancellors special award making four awards from the school.
At the ceremony, as many graduating students were awarded certificates for completing their various courses at the Catholic University of Ghana and among them were many Religious Sisters from different Congregations including four Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus (HHCJ) Sisters.
Two among the four graduated with first degree honours and both had first class honours: Sr. Ursula Iheoha, HHCJ, B.Sc Public Health, Sr. Belinda Bawa HHCJ, B.Ed English and the other two graduated with Master of Philosophy in Educational Administration and Management: Sr. Blessing Abang, HHCJ and Sr. Emmanuella Dakurah, HHCJ, a Sister Communicator.
This was a remarkable one as many of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus Sisters were present to support and cheer their Sisters for this feat chalked.
In the valedictory speech given by the overall best graduating student, Sr. Belinda Bawa, HHCJ said “do not be afraid to explore, to take leadership positions for the service you render will never go unrewarded”.
She thanked the governing council of the school, the lecturers, S R C members, her religious and biological family for their support to climbing this academic ladder.
It was a great joy and pride for the Sisters in the congregation to witness four of their sisters make them proud.
