On Thursday, July 17, 2025, a delegation from the Fr. Campbell SVD Foundation paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, to extend their congratulations and best wishes as he continues his leadership journey. The visit also served to introduce the Foundation and highlight its ongoing and future initiatives.
The delegation was warmly received. Speaking on behalf of the Foundation, Fr. Andrew Campbell, the founder and Board Chair, congratulated H.E. John Dramani Mahama and expressed appreciation for his continued dedication to national development. He also commended the President’s emphasis on transparency and his vision for a better Ghana.
Fr. Campbell shared insights into the Foundation’s work, including ongoing support for cured lepers, the GEOP LOT 7B Project, which focuses on reintegrating street children at the Weija Leprosarium, and other upcoming development projects. He also personally invited H.E. John Dramani Mahama to his 80th birthday celebration, scheduled for March 27, 2026, where he could witness firsthand the Foundation’s impact and its future direction.
In response, President John Dramani Mahama expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Fr. Campbell for his decades of selfless service to Ghana. He praised the Foundation’s efforts to uplift the marginalized and pledged to assist in mobilizing support through potential benefactors who believe in the Foundation’s mission.
As a token of appreciation, the Foundation presented to the President a painting created by a cured leper and resident of the Weija Leprosarium. The President was visibly moved by the gift and received it with joy and admiration.
The visit concluded with photos and warm exchanges, symbolizing mutual respect and shared commitment to serving humanity.
