The Osei-Fordwuo Foundation, a U.S.-based non-governmental organisation with Ghanaian roots, has donated items and accompanying services valued at approximately US$2,000 to the Kressner Handmaids Children’s Home and Divine Providence Catholic School at Otatten in the Central Region.

The donation, presented on Saturday, December 13, 2025, comprised toiletries, learning materials, rice, cooking oil, snacks, and other essential supplies to support the welfare and education of the children at the facility.

The Items were presented by Mrs Agnes Kwegyir and her daughter, Ms. Natalia Kwegyir, on behalf of the Osei-Fordwuo Foundation.

Speaking during the presentation, Ms. Kwegyir said the donation formed part of the foundation’s commitment to supporting vulnerable children and promoting community development in Ghana.

She explained that the foundation is funded through private contributions, customer donations, and a percentage of proceeds from African Grill and Bar, a U.S.-based hospitality business owned by the founders.

Receiving the items, Sr. Mary Kizita Otoo of the Handmaids of Divine Redeemer (HDR) Congregation and Headmistress of Kressner Handmaids Children’s Home and Divine Providence Catholic School, expressed gratitude to the Osei-Fordwuo Foundation for the support.

She said such partnerships were essential in sustaining the home’s work of caring for vulnerable children.

She noted that the home caters to children of different age groups, including those without formal education, who are assisted with starting schooling at the basic level.

Brief Profile of the Orphanage
The Kressner Handmaids Children’s Home is owned and managed by the HDR Sisters but sponsored by Mr. Kressner and the Rotary Club of Otterndorf Land-Hadeln, Germany.

The Children’s Home gave birth to the Divine Providence Catholic School to serve the educational needs of the children of the home from Crèche to Junior High School, and was later opened to host communities.

The home has a population of over 400 students, with about 200 in the boarding facility, for both boys and girls.

The Osei-Fordwuo Foundation was founded by Mr. Sylvester Osei-Fordwuo and Mrs. Theodora Osei-Fordwuo, owners of African Grill and Bar in the United States.

The foundation focuses on educational scholarships, healthcare support, women’s empowerment, and community development initiatives to empower underserved communities in Ghana.
