The final scoreboard at the UCC Auditorium on Tuesday, 1st September 2026 read:
Accra Academy 23pts – University Practice SHS 20pts – Bishop Herman College 17pts
But for anyone who watched the contest, that scoreboard does not tell the full story. What Ghana witnessed was not a defeat. It was the rebirth of a giant.
How Form 2 Warriors, Visionary Trainers and a United BHOBU Family Announced The Return of Bishop Herman College is an amazing story.
Bishop Herman College, Kpando – the great Catholic Boys School on the ‘Akpini Hill’ – led by courageous Form 2 boys, went toe-to-toe with two of Ghana’s finest and proved beyond doubt: BIHECO IS BACK.

_ROUND-BY-ROUND ANALYSIS: THE HEART OF A SOLDIER_
Round 1 & 2: The Slow Start
_End of Round 1: University Practice 11, Accra Academy 8, BIHECO 6_
_End of Round 2: University Practice 13, Accra Academy 10, BIHECO 7_
The contest began cagey. The pressure of fighting hard to represent the school at its first-ever semi-final was evident. Our boys were finding their rhythm while University Practice SHS shot ahead with early speed.
Round 3: The Turning Point – Problem of the Day
Accra Academy 6/10, BIHECO 0/10, University Practice 0/10
End of Round 3: Accra Academy 16, University Practice 13, BIHECO 7
This is where champions are made. The Problem of the Day separated the pack. Accra Academy solved it brilliantly and surged into the lead. For many teams, this would have been the end. For BIHECO, it was the trigger.
Round 4: The BIHECAN Comeback
End of R4: Accra Academy 20, University Practice 20, BIHECO 14
This was the round that won the hearts of the nation. Down and almost out, the BIHECANS showed why they wear the badge _Sicut Miles Christi – As a Soldier of Christ_. They attacked Round 4 with fearless precision, bagging 7 solid points, the highest in that round. From 7 to 14, they dragged themselves back and set up a grand finale. At that moment, UCC erupted. The BIHECO chant shook the auditorium, especially because the contest was open to victory for all 3 Schools.

Round 5: Riddles – So Close, Yet So Proud
End of Contest: Accra Academy 23, University Practice 20, BIHECO 17
It came down to riddles. Accra Academy snatched the final decisive riddle to book the last semi-final slot.
The BHOBU Fraternity is still questioning and discussing why the answer to the riddle “Biological Ethanol” was not considered as against the right answer “Bio Ethanol” accepted by the Quiz Mistress. That moment could have changed the contest.
Our boys fought to the last clue, adding 3 more points to close at 17. Indeed, they lost on points but they won on character.
CELEBRATING THE TRUE WINNERS – THE TEAM BEHIND THE TEAM
This historic run was not by accident. It is the product of a powerful ecosystem that deserves celebration:
_1. TO OUR FORM 2 HEROES:_ You are Giants! At an age where most are learning the NSMQ ropes, you carried a whole College to the quarter-finals. You faced some Form 3 veterans and never flinched. Ghana now knows your names – _Kweku Kyeremanteng and Augustine Mensah_. Your best years are ahead of you. NSMQ 2027 will hear from you again.
_2. TO OUR DEDICATED TRAINERS & TEACHERS:_ For months of sacrifice, dawn-to-dusk coaching, and believing in these boys. Your intellectual investment is evident. You have built a formidable NSMQ machine.
_3. TO THE SCHOOL MANAGEMENT:_ The Headmaster and Staff of BIHECO for providing the discipline, environment and leadership that allows excellence to thrive. You have held the Catholic standard high.

_4. TO THE BHOBU STEM FOUNDATION:_ The game-changer! Your strategic investment, leadership, funding for training, motivation and logistics has transformed our NSMQ story. This quarter-final appearance is a direct return on your vision. The Foundation is working! Congratulations.
_5. TO THE ENTIRE BHOBU FRATERNITY:_ From Cape Coast to Accra to Kpando and across the world, you showed up! You answered the IMC’s call, we got represented at UCC physically and virtually, you cheered every point, you prayed, you donated. You proved that once a BIHECAN, always a BIHECAN. This unity is our greatest strength.
We entered this contest hoping for a semi-final ticket and possibly the Grand Finale. We left with something bigger: _Renewed belief in the BIHECO brand._ We are a Great College and one of the finest in the Volta Region and Ghana.
We are disciplined. We are resilient. We are prayerful. We have a pipeline and balance of talents.
This is not the end. This is Chapter One of our comeback story.
_Congratulations to Accra Academy. And a massive THANK YOU to everyone who made BIHECO shine._

_BIHECO – We remain True Soldiers of Christ!_
