Donkorkrom Bishop Appeals for More Pastoral Agents on the Lake Mission

Must read

The Most Rev. John Alphonse Asiedu, SVD, Bishop of Donkorkrom Apostolic Vicariate, in the Kwahu Afram Plains, Eastern Region of Ghana, has made a general appeal for more pastoral agents to help in the work of evangelization, especially in the Lake Mission of the Vicariate.

He made this appeal in a speech on the Volta Lake during the January 31, 2026, gathering of some pastoral agents at the lake, at Bruben, to appreciate the donors for the gift of lifejackets to the Vicariate.

“Come and join us; we need more people for the work of the Lord, for the Pastoral work, for evangelization,” he solicited.

According to the Chief Shepherd, the faithful on the Lake Mission have been left out for far too long, mainly due to a shortage of Pastoral agents, which he believed the availability of life jackets would be able to calm the fears and anxieties of those who previously might have been scared of travelling on the lake.

He assured such persons that their safety was guaranteed: “Come and join us on the Lake Mission; we have life jackets which secure our safety”.

The Lake Mission, also known as the Dwarf Island, which is considered as one of the Parishes within the Apostolic Vicariate of Donkorkrom, comprises 7 Outstations, namely: Nyakuikope, Menekope, Kpatsakope, Kokrobuta, Kedekope, Galilea, and Battorkope, all presently managed by Rev. Fr. Mathias Kudzo Yadar, SVD, one of the newest arrivals to the Vicariate, who took over from Rev. Fr. Sofronio Endoma, SVD.
