The 2003 Year Group of the Bishop Herman Old Boys Union (BHOBU 2003) have been crowned the ‘Tsitsi’ Champions at the just-ended 10th Edition of the BHOBU Games, after a thrilling campaign that saw them overcome some of their toughest rivals.
The annual and biggest Alumni Fun Games, held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, witnessed massive attendance and participation of Old Boys, the GEMS from POGA, professionals, businessmen, celebrities and politicians, including Hon. Kofi Adams, the Minister for Sports and Recreation.
In a fiercely contested and entertaining grand finale, BHOBU 2003 defeated their Colonial Boys, BHOBU 2005, by *1 goal* to nil to lift the coveted trophy and etch their name into the history of the BHOBU Games.
The road to glory was not easy. They first defeated their Senior Brothers, BHOBU 2000, by 2 goals to 1, and then crushed their long-time beatable Seniors, BHOBU 2002, in the semi-finals, where they showed class and dominance with an emphatic 3-0 victory to book their place in the grand finale.
In spite of completing BIHECO 23 years ago, the 2003 Year Group demonstrated professional footballing skills to dispatch BHOBU 2005 in the final with a convincing 2-0 win, underlining their consistency and determination throughout the 10-year history of the BHOBU Games.
With a blend of teamwork, discipline, and attacking flair, BHOBU 2003 remained unbeaten and proved to be the team to beat in the landmark 10th edition to lift the trophy and the He-Goat.
The victory sparked wild jubilation among players and supporters as BHOBU 2003 celebrated their well-deserved triumph as Tsitsi Champions of BHOBU Games 2026.
The Best Player and Goal King awards went to Jeffery Kanyi Teiko of BHOBU 2003, while the Best Goalkeeper award went to Tsetse Dominic of the same Year Group.
The Leadership and Players of BHOBU 2003 have indicated plans to invite their lovely GEMS, especially POGA 2003, who were present to cheer them on to victory, at the Victory Party.
Organisers of the BHOBU Games have admired the energy, brotherhood and passion that culminated in making the 10th Edition of the BHOBU Games truly special.
Old Boys competed with fun, connected and celebrated the spirit that binds us together as one BHOBU family. We look forward to seeing everyone again as we come together to celebrate BIHECO at 75.
