World Assemblies of God Global Chairman Calls on Churches to Mobilise Behind MM33 Vision for 2033

The Global Chairman of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship (WAGF), Rev. Dominic Yeo, has called on churches worldwide to intensify church planting, evangelism and discipleship as part of the fellowship’s Mandate and Mission 2033 (MM33) initiative.

Rev. Yeo made this call at the Accra International Conference Centre on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the 2026 Global Assemblies of God Congress, held under the theme “Commissioned: One Mandate, Every Nation.”

He urged national councils, local congregations and mission networks to work together towards the initiative’s goal of establishing one million healthy churches worldwide by 2033.

Rev. Yeo said the gathering’s strong attendance demonstrated Africa’s growing role in global Christianity and the changing direction of international missionary activity.

“For many years, missions largely moved from the global north to the global south. Today, we are seeing and setting that shift. The global south no longer simply receives missionaries. In fact, it is raising and sending missionaries. And Africa has a significant part to play in this global shift,” he said.

He urged members of the Assemblies of God to use the gathering to seek a greater move of God and advance the church’s mission across nations.

Rev. Yeo called on participants to draw inspiration from the Book of Acts and the Azusa Street Revival, expressing hope for a greater spiritual awakening.

“So I believe it is significant that the World Assembly of God Congress is being held here on African soil in Accra, Ghana. This is a historic moment. I believe that even more than a historic moment, this is a prophetic moment. Church, let us hear what the Spirit is saying in this moment as He calls us into kingdom expansion through MM33, through our seven pillars.

The MM33 initiative seeks to mobilise Assemblies of God churches worldwide towards the 2033 milestone, which the initiative associates with the 2,000th anniversary of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.

Its stated targets include establishing one million healthy churches worldwide and reaching an estimated 250 million people through evangelism and discipleship by 2033.

Rev. Yeo emphasised the urgency of the mission, urging church leaders and members to recognise opportunities for evangelism and respond to the call to reach more people with the Gospel.

“Jesus had a passion to finish the task, He called it His food. We must have an appetite for His mission and open our eyes to the fields that are ripe for harvest now,” he said. “We must brace for Kingdom impact. If we do not harvest in time, we risk losing the harvest.”

The initiative focuses on three key areas: church planting, global evangelism and discipleship.

Under the church-planting component, national councils and local congregations are encouraged to establish new churches or ministry centres to extend access to the Gospel, particularly in underserved urban and rural communities.

The evangelism component seeks to mobilise believers to share the Christian faith, with emphasis on the participation of churches in the Global South and the involvement of young people in missionary work.

The discipleship component focuses on nurturing spiritually mature believers, developing church leaders and preparing younger generations to assume leadership responsibilities.

He said the congress would also provide an opportunity for participants to discern the future direction of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship and its affiliated associations.

He added that the MM33 vision was entering its final phase of advocacy as the fellowship continued to pursue its goal of expanding the reach of the Gospel.
