The Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference (GCBC) has paid a courtesy call on the Manhene of Juaben, Daasebre Nana Otuo Siriboe II, as part of activities marking its Annual Plenary Assembly at the Divine Providence Pastoral Centre, Jamasi, in the Konongo-Mampong Diocese.
Daasebre Nana Otuo Siriboe II warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Bishops for the visit.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, the President of the GCBC and Bishop of Sunyani, Most Rev. Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi, expressed appreciation to the Manhene for graciously receiving them.

He explained the theme for this year’s Plenary Assembly, “Communion, Participation and Mission: Preparing the Catholic Church in Ghana for Her 150th Anniversary,” as well as the purpose and significance of the gathering.
Most Rev. Gyamfi noted that in keeping with courtesy and respect for traditional authority, it was appropriate for the Bishops to pay homage to the custodian of the land.
In his remarks, the Manhene commended the GCBC for its commendable work and contributions to society. He encouraged the Bishops not to limit their efforts to the Catholic Church alone but to extend their impact to the development and well-being of the entire country.

As part of the visit, the Bishops offered prayers for Daasebre Nana Otuo Siriboe II and his traditional area. They laid hands on him, invoking God’s blessings, protection, wisdom and strength upon him and the entire township.
The courtesy call formed part of the Bishops’ engagement with traditional authorities and other stakeholders during the Annual Plenary Assembly, which will be opened tomorrow, November 9, 2026.
