A Catholic Priest of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit has advised couples especially Mr. Januarius Kwame Sodzinshie and his wife Stella Tanti Ami Henyo Sodzinshie, to always call on Christ in their stormy moments since He is always in control even in turbulent times.
Preaching the homily at a Thanksgiving Mass recently at the Ss. Peter and Paul Parish at Aflao in the Keta-Akatsi Diocese to mark the 25th Anniversary of Marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Sodzinshie, Rev. Fr. Joseph Semabia, CSSp, told the Jubilant “He who brought you together will always be with you to calm your storms.
He reminded the silver Jubilarians that marriage was a vocation, a call with responsibilities and prayed for God’s abiding grace for them in their stormy moments as they strive to fulfill their marriage vocation.
He entreated them to keep focus on God through faith and “Like Job, continue to have faith in God and trust him always, saying, “We rejoice and thank God for having reached this far in your marriage. Twenty-five solid years of being together is not easy.”
Fr. Semabia, who recently completed his Masters in Dogmatic Theology in France, told Stella, “You are blessed to have Januarius, the chief catechist of our Parish as your husband. Januarius, you are blessed to have Stella a calm personality who never draws attention to herself as your wife. May you continue to be shining examples for others.
“You surely have had storms in your lives. May the grace of God that makes you ever young continue to strengthen you in the years ahead. Know that God loves you,” the Catholic Priest who hails from Aflao said at the Silver Jubilee Mass.
The couple got married Sacramentally on Saturday, June 8, 1996.
