The Bishop Herman Old Boys Union [BHOBU] National Elections have been officially postponed until after the 75th Anniversary Celebrations of Bishop Herman College [BIHECO] in 2027.
This was confirmed at the just-ended National Congress held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Christ the King Hall, Cantonments, Accra.
In a resolution passed at Congress, Old Boys approved the dissolution of the current Interim National Executive Committee (INEC) and in its place, a new Interim Management Committee [IMC] has been constituted to steer the affairs of the Union through the Anniversary period and subsequently oversee the electoral process.

The IMCās mandate includes engaging year group leaders to constitute a strong 75th Anniversary Central Planning Committee and the necessary sub-committees. It will also undertake a comprehensive review of the BHOBU Constitution to ensure it is fit for purpose, and lead efforts to revamp BHOBU to make it stronger, more relevant, and more attractive to members.
Ahead of the National Congress, the Council of Elders Chairman, Prof. AQQ Aboagye, convened an urgent stakeholder meeting on Monday, 22nd June 2026. The meeting brought together the Electoral Committee, INEC, BHOBU Reconciliation Committee, candidates, and Year Group Leaders to address recent developments that had created sharp divisions within the Union, despite renewed interest in BHOBU affairs.
Following frank deliberations attended by key BHOBU stakeholders, the meeting resolved that Congress should proceed on June 27, 2026, with both in-person and virtual options, that elections for the substantive National Executive Committee members should be deferred to foster unity for the 75th Anniversary, and that the constitutional review should continue.

The Council of Elders (CoE) also noted that INECās term had elapsed and left the decision on an interim or caretaker arrangement immediately after the Congress, directing that a 75th Anniversary Committee be constituted as soon as possible.
The 5- member IMC is made up of Prof.Ā Thomas Adjadeh ā BHOBU ā83, Bishop Derrick Akubia ā BHOBU ā96 [Sixth Form], Dr. Richard Bayitse ā BHOBU ā90 [Immediate INEC Chairman], Mr. Mawuli Dzebu ā BHOBU ā96 [Sixth Form] and Mr. Charles Edem Goh ā BHOBU ā98.

Prof. Thomas Adjadeh, speaking on behalf of the IMC, called for unity and effective collaboration to execute the mandate given to the team.
He urged Old Boys who participated in the National Congress, and particularly year group leaders and candidates, to give their full support as the IMC guides the Union through this important transition and works with the wider membership to strengthen BHOBU.
