The Bishop Herman Old Boys Union of North America (BHOBU-NA) successfully hosted its Fundraising Dinner Dance and officially launched the Bishop Herman College Endowment Fund on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Hilton Hotels in Fairfax, Virginia.
The evening marked a historic milestone for the Union as more than US$100,000 was raised as seed funding toward the ambitious goal of building a US$1,000,000 Endowment Fund within the next five years. The Endowment Fund is intended to provide sustainable support for scholarships, infrastructure development, and student welfare programmes.

Delivering the keynote address, Bishop Dr. Evans Glover, an alumnus of the school, challenged alumni and donors to rise to the moment and invest in the future of the school and its students.
“I must speak plainly tonight as Bishop Herman taught us to do,” Bishop Glover stated. “The students walking those grounds today are inheriting a world that is more complex, more competitive, and in many ways, more unforgiving than when we entered. The economy has shifted; the job market has transformed. The new skills demanded of tomorrow’s leaders go far beyond what any single underfunded classroom can provide.”
He further emphasized the urgent need for collective support and sustained investment in education, noting that “many brilliant young people with the same fire we had, the same hunger, are being left behind.”

He therefore charged alumni, donors, and friends of the institution to wholeheartedly support the newly launched endowment initiative as a practical and lasting response to the challenges confronting today’s students.
The event featured an elegant dinner, networking opportunities, and moments of reflection on the enduring values and legacy of Bishop Herman College. Attendees demonstrated overwhelming generosity in support of the Union’s vision for the future.
Dr. John-Jeremiah Kretchy, the new President of BHOBU-NA, expressed optimism that this start will galvanize alumni all over the world to come together and mobilize resources to reset the school to its original state of academic excellence, supported by great infrastructure.

BHOBU-NA and the Past Ola Girls Association of North America (POGA-NA) announced a joint 2027 Congress and Fundraising Dinner dance at the end of the event.
The Congress Planning and Executive Committees of BHOBU-NA express their profound appreciation to all members, patrons, donors, sponsors, and friends whose contributions ensured the success of the event.
Special recognition to the Past OLA Girls Association of North America (POGA-NA) for their remarkable support, partnership, and solidarity throughout the planning and execution of the programme.
