The Interim National Executive Committee of the Bishop Herman Old Boys’ Union (BHOBU) has announced the official handover of project sites for the comprehensive rehabilitation of key facilities at Bishop Herman College at Kpando, Volta Region.
On Thursday, May 14, a high-level delegation comprising the Municipal Chief Executive, the Member of Parliament, Project Consultants, and the Headmaster formally handed over site documents to the assigned contractor.

In a statement issued by the Interim National Executive Committee of the Bishop Herman Old Boys Union (BHOBU) and dated 17th May, 2026, the Committee noted that the project, backed by the Government, targets the overhaul and expansion of four major structures on the campus.
These structures include the Father Priems’ Hall Complex, the Science Block, the Agricultural Science Block, and the Dining Hall.
The statement read, “The contractor has been handed a 14-day mobilization timeline to move heavy equipment and personnel onto the campus grounds, with physical works expected to begin immediately thereafter.”

According to the committee, the Dining Hall will undergo massive expansion to address to the school’s growing student population.
“These strategic consultations were crucial in highlighting the urgent infrastructural deficits on campus and securing the governmental commitment required to bring this massive renovation package to fruition.”
The initiative forms part of broader infrastructure improvements ahead of the College’s 75th Anniversary in 2027, following ongoing construction and paving of internal campus road networks, which are already underway to address dust and erosion issues on campus.

This also comes shortly after the handover of a $100,000 ultramodern main gate complex financed by the BHOBU North America Chapter.
The Committee acknowledged the efforts made by government officials, local and traditional leadership, consultants, the school administration, and Old Boys for their contributions to the ongoing development of the institution.
“We owe a special debt of gratitude to our internal committees and every Old Boy who continues to invest time and resources into the shield.”
