Today, Thursday, 14th May 2026, at 5:00 PM in the Great Hall, University of Ghana, our brother Prof. Vincent Boima delivers his Inaugural Lecture: “From Genes to Mind: Holistic Pathways to Precision Kidney Care for Africa.”
Who is Prof. Vincent Boima?
Prof. Boima is a proud Old Boy of *Bishop Herman College, Kpando*, where he served as Infirmary Prefect and was active in Scripture Union. Born in Bawku and hailing from Leklebi-Agbesia near Hohoe, he is now Head of the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics at the University of Ghana and a leading Consultant Nephrologist.
His work leads Africa’s conversation on kidney health. He heads the H3Africa Kidney Disease Research Network, which has attracted over $50M in grants and uncovered genetic factors in African kidney disease. A man of faith and service, he remains active in Christian ministry at Korle Bu Community Chapel.

An Inaugural Lecture is the crowning moment of a scholar’s career. When it’s a BIHECAN or Old Boy of BIHECO, it becomes _our_ moment too.

UG faculty, students, and other alumni bodies will be watching. A strong BHOBU presence tells the story: _BIHECO produces great men and leaders who lead._
3. It’s Our Brotherhood
From the ’80 to ’25, we are one body. BHOBU 92/94 will present him a Citation of Honour today. Let’s stand with them.
