Embrace Innovation Without Compromising Integrity – Minister Cautions PR Practitioners on AI and Misinformation

Must read

The Minister for Government Communications, Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has cautioned public relations practitioners to embrace innovation without compromising integrity as they navigate the digital age.

He gave the caution in his address at the 2026 National PR Summit in Koforidua, which was read on his behalf by his Deputy, Hajia Shamima Muslim.

The Minister noted that while Artificial Intelligence and digital platforms offer enormous opportunities for storytelling and stakeholder engagement, they also come with serious challenges including misinformation, disinformation and declining public trust.

“Our response must be to embrace innovation without compromising integrity. We must use technology intelligently, communicate responsibly and remain committed to facts,” he said.

He stressed that the credibility of institutions and governments does not rest merely on how effectively a message is delivered, but on how truthfully and responsibly it is conveyed.

The Minister urged PR professionals to uphold ethics and accountability as their compass in an era where falsehoods can spread faster than facts.
