A second black smoke from the Sistine Chapel’s Chimney has emanated on May 8, 2025, at 11:50 (Rome time), which signals that the cardinals have yet to decide on who becomes the next pope.,
During the 2025 conclave, the 133 cardinals have been in isolation from the outside world and have taken vows of secrecy, allowing them to freely discuss and vote for the next pope.
The Cardinals are on their second day of deliberation with four voting rounds planned each day, which are scheduled two in the morning and two in the afternoon.

After each round, ballots are burned in a cast-iron stove in the Sistine Chapel, which produces black smoke if no candidate reaches the required majority or white smoke when a new pope is elected.
Pilgrims and tourists are at St. Peter’s Square in anticipation of seeing the results from the conclave.
The 2025 Catholic Conclave can last several days until one of the candidates attains the majority of votes.
The world is eagerly waiting for the white smoke that will announce the election of a new Pope, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the Catholic Church.
