The Christian Mothers’ Association (CMA) of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra has organised a series of activities as part of its yearly programme aimed at strengthening and building the group to higher height.

With the Blessed Virgin Mary as its Patron, the Association marked the month of “May” with Initiations, Rallies, Induction of Executives, Rallies and Inaugurations at the Parish, Deanery and Archdiocesan levels.

Usually, the month of “May” is labeled by the Catholic Church as a Marian month, devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the mother of the Church. In this month, the Church encourages the observation of daily devotions and prayers for Mother Mary to intercede on behalf of her children.

As part of the activities, on May 13, the Tema Deanery CMA initiated new members at the Good Shepherd Parish at Community 2, Tema during which the executives decorated the initiates with their regalia and reminded them of their responsibility to remain faithful to the Association and the church at large.

A day after, in a beautiful ceremony, the Battor Deanery inducted its new executives at the St. Mary’s Parish at Korluedor on May 14 during which Mother Eunice Dumashie, the Accra Archdiocesan President, admonished the executives to ensure they diligently execute their responsibilities with honesty and accountability.

In the Madina Deanery, a spirit-filled rally was held at the Our Lady of Fatima Church at Abokobi on May 20, attended by a large number of Mothers.

The Christian Daughters and Sons of the Association were also inaugurated on May 21 after which the elected executives were inducted into office in a colourful ceremony at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Okponglo, well attended by Mothers.

The Ashaiman Deanery also initiated 92 new members into the Association, comprising Mothers, Fathers, Daughters and Sons. The initiates were elated to finally become full-fledged members of the association.

Mothers also witnessed with great joy and praise to God, the inauguration of the Christian Daughters and Sons of the Association at the Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church at Ashaiman Official Town.

The Osu Deanery in a colourful celebration inducted into office her newly elected executives at the St. James Parish Osu. The newly inducted officers honoured their predecessors for a good job done.

The outgone leaders encouraged the new executives to work hard and seek the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in all they do.

The initiation of 34 new members made up of Fathers, Mothers and Daughters from the Osu and Kpehe Deaneries took place at the Holy Spirit Cathedral, Adabraka on May 27 while at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Adenta, 146 members made up of 75 Daughters and 71 Sons were initiated at a memorable ceremony.

According to the Archdiocesan President, Mother Dumashie, the activities by the CMA were “indeed memorable moments for members especially the new members as their quest to become part of this beautiful association has been achieved.”
