The 1992/94 Year Group of Bishop Herman College (BHOBU 92/94) has presented a Citation of honor to Professor Vincent Boima during his Exhibition of Scholarly Works and Professorial Inaugural Lecture at the University of Ghana.
This took place at the Great Hall, University of Ghana, on 14th May, 2026, where Professor Boima delivered his inaugural lecture titled, “From Genes to Mind: Holistic Pathways to Precision Kidney Care for Africa”.
Professor Boima, a distinguished nephrologist and Head of the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics at the University of Ghana, who served as an Infirmary Prefect at Bishop Herman College, was recognized for his outstanding contributions to medicine, academia, research, and national development.

His exhibition, which opened from 11th to 15th May 2026, saw the attendance of Professor Alfred E. Yawson, Provost of the College of Health Sciences, University of Ghana, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, heads of departments, medical and research students from the School of Health Sciences, members of the medical fraternity, and representation from the BIHECO community.
Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, commended Professor Boima for his contributions to medical research and healthcare delivery in Ghana and beyond.
The BHOBU 92/94 Year Group formally honoured him at the lecture, describing Professor Boima as a “shining testimony to excellence, discipline, perseverance, and selfless service”.
They acknowledged his dedication to kidney care, mentorship of healthcare professionals, and service to the Bishop Herman College community through health education.
They added, “Professor Vincent Boima, you have elevated the name of Bishop Herman College, inspired your peers, and become a beacon of hope to future generations. Your scholarship, humility, service, and unwavering dedication remain a source of pride to us all”.
Professor Boima holds a Bachelor of Science in Medical Sciences, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, and Master of Public Health degrees from the University of Ghana, as well as Fellow of the West African College of Physicians, Fellow of the Ghana College of Physicians, Fellow of the International Society of Nephrology, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Stellenbosch University, South Africa.
This marks a proud moment for Bishop Herman College, celebrating one of its own, who has contributed to the development of national and international healthcare.
