Ashaley Botwe KSJI Donates 70 Bags of Cement to St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Weija

Members of the Knight of St. John International Local Commandery No. 833 and Ladies’ Auxiliary No. 718 in Ashaley Botwe in Accra, on Sunday, 3rd May 2026, donated 70 bags of cement to the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Weija.

In her welcome address during the Eucharistic Celebration, the Church Pastoral Council, Ms. Gladys Ayidiya praised members of the Knights of St. John International saying their dedication and service to God and mankind is inspiring.

In his homily based on Acts 6:1-7, Rev. Fr. Dominic Kwame Adjei urged the congregates to learn to delegate in order to promote their God given assignments.

He also urged groups and societies in the church to elect people with good reputation and people filled with the Holy Spirit.

He said even in selecting people to distribute food the same principle was used.

He also encouraged the congregates not to be bias in their dealings with others in their families,work places and in the church.

Ms. Gladys Ayidiya, the Chairman of the Church Pastoral Council, who received the donation on behalf of the Church, expressed gratitude to members of the Order and called for more support from individuals and societies.

The President of the St. Francis of Assisi Commandery No. 833, Lt. Augustine Asarfo-Adjei, assisted by the 1st Vice President of the Ladies’ Auxiliary No. 718, Sis. Rejoice Ametepe presented the donation.

Lt. Augustine Asarfo-Adjei noted that the donation was in line with the Order’s key value of charity.

He mentioned that the visit was to honour Rev. Fr. Dominic Kwame Adjei’ elevation as the Priest in Charge of the Church and also support the Church in its development.

Also present were the Accra East Grand Messenger, Captain Prince Yaw King, the 2nd Vice Commander of the 1st Regiment of the 14th District Commandery, Major Jerry Siaw -Lash, the Battalion 1 Commander under the 1st Regiment of the 14th District, Major Maxwell Klu and the Battalion 1 Inspector, Captain Albert Nyaaku.

There was a parade formation and inspection before the Holy Mass which was led by Rev. Fr. Dominic Kwame Adjei alongside the President, Lt. Augustine Asarfo-Adjei and the 1st Vice President, Sis. Rejoice Ametepe.

The parade was commanded by Captain Dominic Salifu.
